Note this well, dear reader:

IAEA has found that Iran has been enriching Uranium to about 20% U235 - energy grade, for use in reactors only. This is according to an IAEA report from Feb 2010.

This is a far cry from the 80+% that's needed for contemporary nuclear weapons. That last 60% represents a LOT of work - way more than Iran is probably capable of right now considering economic sanctions, inspections, and a very impressive campaign of sabotage. Thus it should come as no surprise that IAEA has found, thus far, no evidence that Iran has been able to enrich uranium much past the 20% U235 point.

Keep this in mind, because facts like this one will become very important in the next few months.

Don't confuse the GOP w/the Facts!

I'll keep saying it! Every time the US or Israel threatens military action against Iran, we're giving them even more incentive to want to build the bomb! You don't make peace by threatening to bomb any country who doesn't agree with you! ESPECIALLY one you are hoping the middle class will eventually topple the theocracy!

Man this topic torques me off. The Iranians are acting in there own self-interests just like every other frickin' country on the planet does. Why do Americans seem to think they only we can do things which further our own actions.

Hey I'm all for non-nuclear proliferation, but as long as countries like the U.S, Israel, Russian and China can and do 'lean' on countries with the implicit threat of nukes (or any military action) then we shouldn't be frickin' surprised that these countries want the one weapon which will *force* their opponents to have to actually (gasp) take them seriously and head to the diplomacy table.

I mean come on! How would any American feel if some other country constantly threatened them with air strikes? How would we feel if we woke up to find the Glenn Jackson and I-5 bridge destroyed because some other country didn't like our policy on climate change? We'd go ape-shit so why do we all act like deer about to be run over by a Hummer when the Iranians are preparing to go ape-shit over our actions?

In my pre-coffee haze, I initially saw IAEA as IKEA.

they won't be important. i remember hans blix on CNN 24/7 in the weeks leading up to the iraq invasion saying "iraq has no wmd" -- i kept wondering what TV shows the president was watching.
