Monday Miscellany!
Dec. 16th, 2013 12:32 pm- A Federal Judge has ruled that the NSA's phone spying program is unconstitutional. Lotta good that'll do.
- The Spanish government has heeded the protests against their austerity programs, and taken decisive action - by imposing stiff fines for unauthorized protests.
- Amazon yanks digital content out of customers' hands after their customers paid for it. The content belongs to Disney, and the customer has no recourse, not even to get a refund, since all they really paid for was a license (apparently revocable) to access the content. This is why you make backups - and if it's important to you, such as with a book, you always have a physical copy where you can get it. Naturally, Slashdot has a discussion.
- Human Resources doesn't give a shit about the online classes you took to learn C++ programming. They want a degree. Barring that, they want a certificate.
- Dear Hollywood: I hope this flops and everyone involved has their careers destroyed as a result. Yes, down to the extras and production assistants.
