Current events warrant reviving this all but abandoned LiveJournal. Where to begin?
- Included in the US Senate torture report that Dick Cheney thinks is full of crap is an account of how very loud music was used to torture people. Skinny Puppy, for their parts, have billed the DOD for $666,000 in royalties. Metallica on the other hand seems to be proud that Enter Sandman is considered torture.
- Given the abuses of the PATRIOT Act we've seen in the last decade-plus, surely Congress wouldn't pass a bill allowing warrantless forfeiture of private communications to local law enforcement, right? Right?
- The Clinton Campaign started yesterday, when Howard Dean endorsed HRC. She just hasn't announced yet.
- The US Army is getting their own airport just for drones.
- The Starry Wisdom Library, featuring stories from authors including Nick Mamatas, Edward Morris, Scott Nicolay, Joe Pulver, W. H. Pugmire, and a whole lot of other people, and illustrated by Liv Rainey-Smith, is now available for ordering. This project was a hell of a lot of work, and we're happy to see it come to fruition in time for the holidays.
