I continue to be impressed by the extent to which the Salvation Army has completely hornswoggled the American public into the idea that they are primarily a charitable society, rather than a militant ultra-Protestant sect with a history of recruiting the disenfranchised. I mean, which of the two words Salvation Army is unclear?
