Today's Rasmussen: Obama by seven

This should be welcome news for Obama supporters:

In a potential Election 2012 matchup, President Obama attracts 49% of the vote and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney earns 42% (see tracking history). If Ron Paul were to be the Republican nominee, the president leads by twelve, 50% to 38%.

Rasmussen, you will remember, leans Republican. This is not a poll where Mitt Romney wants to be down seven points.

On the flip side, Gallup has a slightly more glum outlook for Democrats here.
